The team at Hesketh Park Lodge is often asked a wide range of questions about life in our care home, from the type of care we provide and the facilities available, to visiting arrangements and how care fees work. To help, we’ve brought together answers to the questions we’re asked most frequently. We hope this page provides the reassurance and clarity you’re looking for. If there’s anything you’d like to discuss in more detail after reading through, our friendly team would be very happy to help.

Care plans are regularly reviewed and adapted as needs evolve. If a resident’s care requirements increase, we work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care within the home wherever possible.

Residential care supports daily living needs such as washing, dressing and medication. Nursing care includes 24-hour support from registered nurses for residents with more complex medical needs.

We take a holistic approach to wellbeing, supporting physical health, emotional comfort and social connection through personalised care plans, meaningful activities, nutritious meals and strong family involvement.

Finance Questions

Fees are reviewed annually, with at least four weeks’ notice provided before any changes take effect.

All care fees end from the date of death. Accommodation costs are covered for up to ten days, allowing families time to make arrangements. We handle all matters with compassion and respect.

Fees include accommodation, all meals and refreshments, care and support, activities, facilities and most outings. Full details are available on request.

Fees may be covered by self-funding, local authority funding, NHS Continuing Healthcare, or a combination of sources, depending on eligibility.

If circumstances change, we encourage families to speak with the Home Manager. Support and guidance will be offered, including exploring funding options with the local authority.

If your care home fees cost more than what your local council is willing to pay, someone else can make up the difference between that figure and the home’s fee, such as a family member.

Fees depend on individual care needs and room type. A full assessment is carried out prior to admission, and our team is happy to explain costs clearly.

Weekly fees cover accommodation, care, meals, activities and use of facilities. Some optional services, such as specialist healthcare appointments, may incur additional charges.
